Raising prices is not something we do lightly. We explain here why we have to take this step for some of our coffees anyway.
Why some of our coffees are becoming more expensive
Perhaps you have already noticed: we have to adjust the prices for some of our coffees.
One thing is especially important to us in this regard: This is not a general price increase. HOWEVER - with every new harvest, green coffee becomes more expensive.
To illustrate this, we have created a simple chart showing the price development of our four 'standard' varieties over the last five years. Of course, all coffees are becoming more expensive - but since we have been purchasing these four varieties for many years, the trend is particularly easy to demonstrate here.
- Brazil
- Pachamama (Peru)
- Plantation (India)
- La Cristalina (Colombia)
It is important to us to show you transparently why we have to take this step.
Here is an overview of the price development*:

*These prices refer solely to our purchase price - excluding tax, transport, or storage costs.
A look at the development of recent years
If you look at the purchase prices of these four green coffees from 2022 to today, it quickly becomes clear: This is not a short-term outlier, but a clear trend.
This is particularly evident in:
- Pachamama and Plantation – sharp price jumps recently – we already adjusted these prices last year.
- La Cristalina – continuously increased at a high level – we adjusted the price this year.
- Brazil – also a significant increase over the years – we adjusted the price in March '26 with the new harvest.
For Pachamama and Plantation, the final prices for 2026 have not yet been determined, as the new harvest will not arrive until the summer. Nevertheless, the development already shows how much the market has changed.
Why is coffee becoming increasingly expensive?
The reasons for the price increase are manifold:
- Climate change: Harvests are becoming more unpredictable and are generally yielding less
- Production, transport & energy: significantly increased costs, also in the countries of origin
- Global demand: Coffee is being consumed more worldwide
- Quality: Specialty coffee is available in limited quantities
All of this has a direct impact on green coffee prices – and naturally, on our prices as well. What does this mean for us?
We truly try to avoid price increases for as long as possible. But eventually, we reach a point where there is no other option.
Because: If we want to continue buying the quality you know from us, we have to match these prices.
And that is precisely why we have to adjust the prices of these coffees with every new harvest.
Why transparency is important to us
We know that many things are currently becoming more expensive – in everyday life, when shopping, everywhere.
That is why it is important to us that you understand:
We are not raising our prices just because – but because we have to.
And at the same time, we want to continue to:
- buy fairly and transparently
- roast high-quality coffees
- offer consistent quality
Thank you for your understanding
Ultimately, it is simply important to us to be honest.
We very much hope that you can understand this step – even if many things are getting more expensive right now anyway.
Thank you for continuing to be with us.
